Design Development: Once the big picture is established, the next step consists of refining the design further and making decisions on smaller scales: details, materials, electrical and lighting decisions, windows, hardware, plumbing, etc.

At this stage I'll typically start CAD drawings. The drawings prepared here will quickly begin evolving into the construction drawings.
